Bacon Beans

500 grams fresh green beans
250 grams rindless bacon
30 ml butter or margarine
15 ml oil
5 ml coarsly ground black pepper

1: Top and tail the beans and divide them into bundles of 5-6 beans each

2: Tie each bundle with a bacon rash and secure with a cocktail stick

3: Melt the butter or margarine and oil in a pan and fry the bacon beans over moderate heat

4: Sprinkle pepper over while frying

5: Turn often and remove from the stove when the bacon is cooked

6: Serve hot
